Description
Having already completed 2 years of Adventure Through History courses, this course seeks to develop a child’s views further. The course begins with a recap and hearing abut political historians. We look at the ancient Beaker culture and the origins of the Olympic games. We learnt about daily life in the Roman Empire, and the different languages in Saxon culture. We head over to meet the Aztecs before returning to look at Tudor and Stuart England and the Ming Dynasty in China. We discover a changing world with the Industrial Revolution before hopping over to America to find out about the Puritans and then back to France to hear about their revolution! We take Florence Nightingale’s inspirational story and look at women’s rights before looking at the Apache tribe and Geronimo. After a brief encounter with the Victorians, the year 5 course ends with an investigation into how life has changed since the world wars. Has it changed for the better?
The focus is still very much on teaching these topics chronologically, but also as children mature, we ask them to really think about the impact various events have on humanity. From staging our very own Olympic games (ancient style) to Chinese Martial Arts, children will love engaging with this course, both in schools or at home.
