Welcome to Adventure Through History

The exciting way to teach children about history.

Adventure Through History was founded upon one main premise –   teaching history to children chronologically. We believe chronology helps young minds not only to make sense of Earth’s history, but also engages their curiosity to learn more. Each course begins with a dive into how we actually learn history – in other words learning about historical enquiry. It then moves from prehistory, adventuring through the eras and civilisations until eventually culminating in modernity. As children progress through the years, they continually build on prior knowledge, whether this is local, national or global history. We travel worldwide, investigating an array of civilsations and concepts, including empire, invasions, tax and much more.

In teaching in this manner, we have the opportunity to expose our children to a much wider range of topics that wouldn’t usually be taught or learnt, especially in the traditional school setting. In turn, this exposure allows children to find their own passion for history. This might be palaeontology and the Mesozoic dinosaurs, or it might be learning about archaeology and the discovery of Catal Huyuk.  They may engage more with the elves, dwarves and land spirits of Norse mythology. The Wild West, or perhaps the social history of the Victorians.  Our children naturally find their love of history as a result of this increased exposure.

Here at Adventure Through History, we feel we need to teach our children not just facts and dates, but how human history has evolved, and to question and enquire about humanity and also our future. So, with every session, the teacher or home educator is fully supported and equipped with everything they need to deliver an informative and interactive learning encounter. Complete teacher guidance is supplied for each week, as well as a fully illustrated PowerPoint, fun, and engaging resources. Editable lesson plans are included, which are not only useful for teachers, but also helpful for home educators wanting or needing to provide evidence of learning to their Local Authorities.

Adventure Through History has removed all the legwork for teachers and home educators; everything is done, ready to teach. Simply download then print out the resources and alongside your children, you are on a journey through the ages, a true Adventure Through History!
