Description
Your Year 3 children will love getting to know the eras through history. This is an introductory course that explores what history actually is, as well as the roles of an archaeologist. Children get the chance to explore their home or school grounds conducting archaeological research! We travel through the Mesozoic era, the Stone Ages, Bronze Age and Iron Age delving into Ancient Crete and Greece and then learn about the Celts. The course then moves into the AD world, finding out about the Romans, Saxons, Normans, Tudors, Georgians and Victorians. As we enter the twentieth century, we study the First World War and finish looking at post-war to today.
Children will love the interactive activities, that have been carefully designed (and tested by our own children!) to encourage all children to reflect on the issues raised and above all, probe their innate curiosity and love of history.
All our courses are taught in chronological order, and this year is no different. It has been designed to provide a chronological whistle stop introduction to global history, and furthermore, provide the foundations for subsequent courses.
This course is also suitable for year groups 4, 5 and 6 who have never studied an Adventure Through History course, or Home Educating families.
